4. Advertising, analytics, and tracking technologies

We advertise our housing services on third-party platforms, and we use analytics tools to understand how our website is used. This section describes those tools and your choices.

4.1 Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. We may use the following:

  •  Meta lead forms — forms that appear within Facebook or Instagram, allowing you to send us an inquiry without leaving the platform.
  • Meta Pixel — a small piece of code on our website [IF APPLICABLE — remove this bullet if you have not installed a pixel] that helps us understand which advertisements lead to website visits and inquiries, and allows us to show relevant advertisements to people who have visited our site.

Information collected through these tools is processed by Meta in accordance with Meta’s Data Policy, available at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

You can control the advertisements you see and how your information is used for advertising through your Facebook Ad Preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences and your Instagram settings.

4.2 Google

We may use the following Google services [REMOVE ANY YOU DO NOT USE]:

  • Google Analytics  to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited and time on site. This information is processed by Google as described at
    https://policies.google.com/privacy and
    https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Google Ads and remarketing third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to our website. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. You may opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You may also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating third-party vendors through the Network Advertising Initiative at https://optout.networkadvertising.org, the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info, or, for mobile devices, through your device’s advertising settings.

4.3 Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies, which are necessary for the website to function.
  •  Analytics cookies, which help us understand site usage.
  •  Advertising cookies, which help us measure and target our advertisements.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of our website may not function properly.

4.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting these signals, our website does not currently respond to them. You can still use the opt-out options described above.

5. How we share your information

We treat inquiries and applications as confidential. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s independent marketing purposes.
We may share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use third parties to operate our services for example, our website host, email provider, phone or text messaging provider, application platform, and advertising and analytics platforms. These providers may access your
information only to perform services for us.
  • Our online application platform. Our resident application is hosted by a third-party provider (OathTrack). Information you submit through the application is processed by that provider on our behalf and is also subject to that provider’s own privacy practices.
  • Referral partners  only with your permission. We work with courts, treatment providers, shelters, hospitals, faith communities, and other organizations. We will not share your information with a referral partner, family member, or any other third party without your consent, except as described below.
  • Safety and legal requirements. We may disclose information without your consent if we are required to do so by law, court order, subpoena, or valid legal process; if we are required to report under applicable mandatory reporting laws; or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm to you or another person.

6. Text messaging and phone communications

If you provide your phone number, you consent to us contacting you by phone call or text message at that number regarding your inquiry, your application, and availability.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop receiving text messages from us at any time by replying STOP, and you can reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages will not prevent us from contacting you by phone or email about an inquiry you have made.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of applying for or receiving housing.

Please note that text messages and voicemails may be visible to anyone with access to your device. Let us know if there is a safer way to reach you, or if you would prefer we not leave messages.

7. Email communications

We will use your email address to respond to your inquiry and communicate about your application. If we ever send periodic updates or newsletters, every message will include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Unsubscribing will not affect communications about an active inquiry or application.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • General inquiries that do not proceed: retained for approximately [INSERT PERIOD, e.g. 12 months], then deleted.
  • Applications and waitlist records: retained for approximately [INSERT PERIOD, e.g. 24 months] to allow us to follow up if space becomes available.
  • Resident records: retained for as long as required by applicable law, insurance, or funding requirements.
  • Website analytics data: retained according to the settings of our analytics provider.

You may ask us to delete your information sooner, as described in Section 10.

9. How we protect your information

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including limiting access to staff who need it, using secure connections for our website and forms, and requiring confidentiality from our staff and volunteers.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have information you consider especially sensitive, we encourage you to share it by phone rather than through a web form.

10. Your privacy choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you may:

  •  Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Ask us to stop contacting you
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave

To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may retain certain information where the law requires it.

If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and a growing number of others), you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined, and we do not knowingly process sensitive personal information for advertising purposes. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

If you are located outside the United States, please note that our services are directed to residents of North Carolina and the United States, and information you provide will be processed in the United States.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adult women aged 18 and older. Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through our website or advertisements.

If you believe a person under 18 has submitted personal information to us through our website, please contact us and we will delete it.

Where a resident’s minor child is accommodated in the home on a case-by-case basis, information about that child is collected only as part of the intake process, directly from the parent or legal guardian, and is treated as confidential.

12. We are not a medical or clinical provider

Safe In Grace is a transitional and supportive living community. We are not a medical facility, treatment center, or clinical provider, and we do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on our website or in our communications is medical advice.

Because we are not a healthcare provider, we are generally not a “covered entity” under HIPAA. We nevertheless treat information about your health and personal circumstances as confidential and handle it as described in this policy.

Please do not send us detailed medical information through a web form. If health information is relevant to your application, we will discuss the appropriate way to provide it.

13. Third-party websites and links

Our website and advertisements may link to third-party sites and platforms, including our online application provider and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to how we handle your information, we will provide a more prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
